Thank you for your kind review. I cannot tell you the dread that filled me when I realised that I had been given the poisoned chalice of “Embryology” to deliver the lectures on. My memories of the (few) lectures that I received, were of boredom & total confusion.
I am really pleased that I left you (as a recipient of my lectures) with a better experience.
Personally I much prefer delivering lectures on a practical bent and spending time in the wet-labs with delegates. But you will need to lobby the powers-that-be for me to achieve that.
Really pleased that I managed to make some sense of embryology for you. To have made it “fun” is truly a great accolade!

As a referring vet I have always received excellent service from VetDentist. The most recent patient I referred for crown reduction came back a week later “a different dog”. We took our 12 week old scottie puppy Hazel for a consultation due to an issue with her lower canines. She had them removed the same day. On behalf of the Wood family we would like to say a massive thank you to Bob and his dedicated, caring nurses for the brilliant care and treatment of our precious dog Bailey, a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel.
Being an older dog we were so worried about proceeding with the complex dental procedure, however following a consultation with Bob we felt reassured and this put our minds at rest that we had made the right decision to go ahead with the dental surgery. It was apparent Bob was an extremely knowledgeable and highly experienced dental vet and explained the whole procedure from start to finish. Throughout the day our telephone calls were promptly answered and we were kept updated and Bob and his staff worked late until Bailey had recovered to be discharged home. Just want to say a massive thank you to the nurses for giving him lots of cuddles and care throughout the day. Despite the complex surgery and Baileys age he returned home that night with positive signs of a good recovery and by the next day we were pleased to see he was behaving like a happy and healthy dog so soon.
We are so very grateful to Bob and his wonderful team and would not hesitate in recommending this dental vets. Bailey sends lots of doggy love to you all for the care he received.

Mabel our mini schnauzer was referred for a fracture to her back tooth caused by a hard bone. Unfortunately the situation was a little more complex with other work required and the tooth couldn’t be saved. Wow, well, what can I say that hasn’t already been said before!! FANTASTIC!!!
What a difference I have noticed in Black-Jack aka Jax, my seal bi colour ragdoll who was referred to Bob at the Vet Dentist for surgery after being found to have malformed growing teeth (four teeth on one side of his mouth rather than the usual three). Sorry – not sure of the technical term, but it didn’t look very nice on the x-rays.
Everyone was so very polite, kind and courteous from the first contact via phone through to enquiries following the surgery for insurance claims.
Bob explained everything very thoroughly and answered all the questions I had all the time showing care and consideration for his fluffy patient. I was even more surprised to receive a follow up call from him on the Sunday afternoon over the recent Bank Holiday asking how Jax was doing – “He’s got a new lease of life – he’s back to being a kitten again, he must have been in so much pain”. And, although he’s still not eating biscuits, his appetite is very much improved – again a sure sign that his operation was a great success.
Should your pets ever be unfortunate enough to need a referral to the Vet Dentist, you can rest assured your four legged friends will be in the best of hands and greatest of care with all the staff there.
A big thank you to you all from me – a very happy mummy and a big purry thank you from Black-Jack (Jax) for taking his pain and discomfort away.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Mr Partridge may be one of the top six dental specialists in the country but he was rushed, brusque and very rude at the Leeds branch. I would strongly recommend that you make enquiries elsewhere for your pets treatment as Mr Partridge’s fees are extremely extortionate.
If I could give a zero for poor service I would.
Our Response
It is always upsetting to receive a negative review. However, we have to draw consolation from the fact that the overwhelming majority of our feedback is highly positive.
Whilst we cannot comment specifically on individual cases, we can note that our colleagues report that a frequent stimulus for negative reviews is when they ask clients to pay outstanding bills.
Indeed, when we have records of post operative phone conversations saying how well their pet is doing after surgery – and knowing that our treatment has not only removed the immediate pain, but also our advice and preventive measures have helped to avoid further problems – then we know that we have done our job for our patients well.
It also helps to put things in context when a client’s main complaint appears to be a wobbly toilet seat in our previous temporary accommodation. Knowing that we were moving into our fabulous new premises in Harrogate within a couple of weeks, we had unfortunately not fixed the staff toilet seat.
Regarding the specific claims of “rushed, brusque and rude” – my practice manager has investigated and we have apologised if this was the impression given. However, this does not appear to be the impression that every other reviewer has formed.
This does not imply any complacency on our part. We continually strive to provide excellence in care, for our patients, our clients and for the vets that refer cases to us in a sustainable practice.
A sustainable practices is one that pays its bills and relies on our clients to pay their bills too!

So happy with the care our working cocker Ollie received when he broke his left lower canine tooth. Bob and his crew managed to save his tooth by doing a root canal and later Ollie had a crown fitted (the colour match is amazing).

Our Border Collie had some teeth extracted on 2/1/20 as he was having difficulty eating and was drooling a lot. He was looked after very well throughout the procedure and is doing very well now the teeth are out. We are so pleased he is not in pain anymore and would definitely recommend the VetDentist to anyone who has a dog with similar problems.

As a Veterinary Dentist, I prefer to try and save teeth where possible. Unfortunately in Scooby’s case we had no real option but to extract the damaged teeth. After managing Stomatitis for over 2 years, it was decided to refer my 12 year old chocolate Burmese, Teddy, to Mr Partridge. All his teeth have been removed and 6 months later he is such a different boy, gained over a kilo in weight, a much happier chap who can now eat anything, as long as it is to his liking of course! Boo my 10 year old Burmese was recently referred with the same problem. She has also had to lose most of her teeth and we have had a few set backs but she is now well on the road to recovery. WOW, we had our first visit to see Mr Partridge yesterday (9/5/18) and we could not have been treated any better.
Every single one of the staff was friendly and welcoming in to the centre. We had a tour around the facilities which I found quite reassuring.
As for Mr Partridge himself, well, what can I say? So professional and explained absolutely everything, the news wasn’t what we wanted to hear but it was delivered in a way that was understandable and he used the images that he had taken to explain exactly what has been going on with our dog.
Our special boy has a fight on his hands over the coming months but I am absolutely certain that he is in no better hands than those of Mr Partridge

Thank you to George and Bob for working hard on a Sunday to help with our 11yr old Lab Harry’s teeth. We knew after initial discussion exactly what the treatment steps were likely to be, in the event, imaging showed more problems with his teeth than we or our own vet had thought, and the work required will take 2 sessions as the first session ended before Bob tired too much – he was concerned about making an error. That was very good to hear, showing a cautious approach and consideration for their patient. We are happy to return.
Harry recovered quickly, the major sign of improvement is how fast he now eats – we hadn’t really noticed a slowing (he is a lab after all) but 3 days after his extractions, he beats our 2 year old lab to the finish at mealtimes!!!

I took m elderly cat, Copper, to Oak Beck for a second opinion with a large infected ulcer in his mouth. As soon as the phone was answered (by Jane) I was able to hand over most of my concerns to a very capable team. Copper was seen the same day and referred to Bob Partridge the mouth an dental specialist whose expertise in this field I had had previously experienced. Mr Partridge explained how he proposed to approach the problem clearly and concisely. X ray and the CT scan which followed showed retained root fragments from previous dental extractions. The surgery to remove them was lengthy and painstakingly carried out and required the removal of quite a large area of infected tissue. I was updated on Copper’s progress regularly by Mr Partridge and the nursing team and any concerns I had about Copper coping with the surgery where put to rest by the exemplary post op care he received. I couldn’t believe how quickly he was back to normal. Oak Beck is a complete package from the initial phone call right through to discharge and every member of the team plays their part. Everything I hoped for and more beside but I guess it was just another day at the office for the Oak Beck team!

Our 7 year old Cockerpoo developed a large hard lump in his jaw. We took him to our local vet Filip at Marske vets, he took xrays ,samples for biopsey removed a tooth and contacted Bob Partridge.At the time Bob Partridge was out of the country but conversed with Filip and agreed to see Little Max on his return to uk.
When we attended the vet hospital Bob saw us examined Little Max, did CT scan and operated that same day.His manner was very professional,caring and truthful. (He called a spade a spade) you were not left wondering what was about to happen .

I would, and do, recommend this practice to anyone who has concerns about their dog’s teeth. My experience is that general veterinary practitioners do not have the specialist knowledge to advise on complex dental issues and seem to take the view that if the dog is not showing pain then it is OK.
My English Bull Terrier pup had a condition where one of her lower canines was pressing into her upper palate. My vet suggested that this would ‘work itself out’ as her jaw grew. Thank goodness I asked for a referral to Bob Partridge to get a second opinion as a full examination showed that her canine had pierced her upper palate and would have been causing her a lot of pain every time she closed her mouth.
After her teeth were sorted out she was a different girl: letting anyone stroke her head and under her chin – she would dodge her head previously and now I understood why – and happy to play pull with her rope toys.

I am a veterinary surgeon but when my Chihuahua needed dental treatment I wanted to refer her to a Specialist for expert care. I had every confidence that Bob would do a thorough job and had my dog’s best interests at heart. The excellent facilities and equipment, often not available within a GP practice, allowed detection and treatment of problems that may have been missed otherwise. I was kept fully updated throughout the day on Bob’s findings and Lucy’s progress. She bounced back from her general anaesthetic and treatment and even the next day was much happier and eating much better than she had done in a while. Bob also gave us lots of advice for home care following her procedure.

My best friend Artemis had a bad start after an accident that led to a broken jaw but thanks to the wonderful service provided by Bob Partridge she is now fully recovered and is a happy little lady full of life and now looking forward to her first Christmas. My German Shepherd Luna had broken canines and I was concerned that she should receive treatment before they started giving her trouble but I wanted her to be treated by a specialist. It turned out that Luna’s canines weren’t a major concern but she did have two abscesses at the back of her mouth that we had no idea about. She had shown no signs of being in pain so I was pretty upset to learn that she actually had been in pain for I don’t know how long. The care that Luna received was I believe second to none. Luna had four teeth extracted in the end and a good clean and polish. She is clearly a happier dog for the work that was done and I can’t thank Bob and his team enough.
Being so upset that Luna had been in pain and we had no idea I did a quick rummage through my other dog, Kody’s, mouth and found a broken tooth in there – it doesn’t appear to be bothering her at all but as we now know that means nothing. Kody is now booked in to see Bob next week. Kody is older than Luna and the anaesthetic worries me but the care taken with Luna during the anaesthetic was clearly far superior to any we’ve seen before (as evidenced by the detailed breakdown on the bill and her recovery). I’m confident that Kody won’t receive better care anywhere.
Bob explained everything to me regarding Luna’s teeth. His knowledge was very evident and the photographs he took throughout the treatment were excellent as I could see what he was explaining. Luna was in safe and experienced hands and I would have no hesitation in recommending Vetdentist. In fact I would want that any dental work for my dogs be undertaken by Bob and his team rather than at my regular vets – they deserve the very best treatment.

Spencer my King Charles Spaniel visited the surgery in Leeds after weeks of breathing problems and mucousy discharge from his nose. As he is twelve years old I was very apprehensive but needn’t to have worried. The whole set up is so professional and he was left for surgery and xrays. We collected him later that day and I was shown the amount of work that was done on him, the main part being the removal of eight teeth including his upper two canines. Spencer was so well looked after by Bob and his assistant Louise, and all eventualities were covered for our return back home to North Yorkshire.
Two weeks later and finishing all his tablets my boy is better than I dared hope for. His nasal discharge has cleared completely, no more snuffles. After previously losing a kilo in weight and having to be given a low dose steroid to help his appetite he now is eating like a horse !! It is wonderful to see and I can only imagine how problematic his teeth were. He is so much happier and I can’t thank Bob and his team enough, nor can Spencer.

I was referred to Bob via my local vets, after many treatments had failed to clear up long term dental issues in my cat. As a survivor of cat flu, Wren lost an eye as a kitten before I adopted her, and was left with some long term effects from flu. She was getting lethargic and unhappy.
Bob has made an amazing intervention via surgery. Wren was treated like a VIP with an overnight in the care of Bob’s excellent vet nurse Louise – who provided regular text updates. Since Wren has come home the difference has been significant. A much happier and healthier cat, with lots more energy and a big appetite. She had a lot of teeth out but you would never have guessed from her quick recovery, which I attribute to the quality of surgery and the detailed after-care.
Wren is still having follow up appointments but I am really happy with everything so far.

Our little dog Spike went to the Vet Dentist this week, to have some infected lower fangs removed. Bob and the team were amazing, Spike had also damaged his paw and Bob managed to sort it out whilst Spike was under anaesthetic as well. It transpired to be a dislocated toe of which he was in considerable pain.

I am so impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and care given to Luna during her treatment from Bob and the girls. I was shocked to find out how damaged her teeth and palette were and how much discomfort she must have been in for some considerable time. Bob was straight forward, told me exactly what treatment he thought would be required, explaining why and how in layman’s terms so that I had a full understanding.
When we collected Luna later that day, Bob explained in great detail, with photographs of the procedure, exactly what had happened.
I shall take onboard the advice Bob gave me – especially ALWAYS, ALWAYS check your dog, they do not tell us when they are in pain and it is up to us to identify any problems.

We went to see Bob as our cocker spaniel broke some teeth playing with a tennis ball. I am a veterinarian and pet owner and brought one of my dogs to Bob for a more complicated tooth extraction. As a veterinarian it is interesting and different being on the other side of the exam table when your own pets need treatment. I am really grateful someone with Bob’s expertise was available to treat my dog. He was very accommodating and so gentle with my dog. He showed me in detail all the work that he did with photographs and radiographs and he did a perfect job. My dog recovered quickly and has been doing well ever since! His procedure was several months ago now and we have had no follow up problems!
I would highly recommend Bob to pet owners and for veterinarians to refer cases to. Dental health often gets overlooked or ignored in pets. They suffer with the same pain that we do when there is a dental condition and deserve the same expertise and care to resolve these problems. There are not many vets with expertise in dentistry and I am so relieved Bob was available for my dog. Thank you so much Bob and team!!

My cat Oscar was referred to Vet Dentist in Leeds by his own vet as he has a bad problem with his teeth and gums and needed specialist treatment. Right from the start I was reassured and put at ease by Rosie, who was my first point of contact, I knew then Oscar was in good hands, she was lovely and explained everything to me. I was then contacted by Laura who sorted all the paper work out and insurance and more reassurance from her. Bob was fantastic and explained what he proposed to do with Oscar very throughly and professionally, I felt confident leaving Oscar with him. Rosie rang me during the operation to tell me everything was going well and Oscar was ok, that made me feel much better. When I went to collect Oscar that evening Bob fully explained what he had done in the operation and showed me detailed pictures, just amazing, what a talented man he is. It was quite late when I picked him up and everybody was still there to look after Oscar. The aftercare received for Oscar has been brilliant. Where do i start ? From the very first call to Laura who booked us in with Jess our Border Collie, to the consultation, surgery and after care, Bob, Rosie and Emily are incredible. Who phones you up half way through surgery to let you know your dog is doing just great and puts your mind at rest. This is the time when you are the most anxious about your pet and to recieve this call was amazing. I felt far more relaxed waiting for her to come round after the procedure.
Rose came out to see me and talked me through the operation and reassured me that Jess had done so well especially as shes 9 years old.
Bob then showed me all the xrays and before and after pictures of the procedure and talked me through in depth of what the surgery entailed. I found this both emotional and reassuring as the results he achieved can only be described as outstanding. My dog was told she was going to loose all her teeth by another vet however Bob saved the majority of her teeth and i am forever grateful for this. His knowledge of vet dentistry is groundbreaking and if anyone reads this review that are unsure of who to choose to help their pet Bob, Rosie and Emily are the very, very best. If he can save teeth, he saves teeth.

Travelled from Manchester to bring our border collie for dental surgery. Bob was excellent with Dexter and showed he really cared, however he was 100% honest with the nature of Dexter’s gum damage and teeth destruction and laid out a plan for surgical repair. We both felt really comfortable handing Dexter over to both Rosie and Bob and we are incredibly grateful to Rosie in particular for staying late into the evening to care for Dexter until we could come and collect him.
We know Dexter’s case is complex and are prepared for the need for more treatment, but everything was clearly and accurately (with plenty of pictures on the big screen!) so there will be no surprises if further repair work is required. To end, Bob sent us a copy of the report/pictures so we can have another look in slower time, to take it all in.
I would highly recommend Bob, Rosie and all at VetDentist should your pet require complex dental work. It is obvious that they are experts in their field and we would have no qualms in returning if we had to. Thanks so much for everything you have done for Dexter.

I want to thank the fantastic team of Bob Partridge; his resident Arianna and nurse Louise who carried out extensive work on my Ridgeback Oscar. the original plan was to take biopsies; clean his teeth and assess what future work would be possible as judging from the scans the prognosis was not looking good.
When Bob and his team started they realised the situation was better then appeared in the scans and were able to effect repairs involving removal of dentigerous cysts in the top and bottom of Oscar’s jaw; extraction of damaged teeth and bone grafts; work which took nearly 4 hours.
Despite Covid restrictions meaning the practice is running with a skeleton staff; Bob took the time to explain everything and keep me informed. The professionalism; expertise and care provided by him; Arianna and Louise was exemplary.

Our own vet referred us to VetDentist, as our Yorkshire Terrier, Finley, was in need of treatment for long-standing teeth and gum problems (common with this breed). We visited Bob and his amazing team yesterday.
This resulted in Finley having surgery to have teeth removed and bone grafts. Without going into detail, both my husband and I are amazed at what has been achieved in just one surgery. We’re not out of the woods yet, but we are now hopeful for the future. It is obvious to us, after seeing VetDentist and their approach, that their care and understanding for the well-being of their patients is paramount, never mind the expertise shown in all areas, be it consultation, diagnosis or surgery.
Bob and his wonderful team of nurses worked late into the evening to help Finley. Despite this, Bob gave us a comprehensive run-down of Finley’s condition, explaining everything with photographs taken before, during and after surgery.

Arianna explained all the possibilities for treatment in detail. She said she would call me when Lola was under anaesthetic to discuss the findings. She did and fortunately Lola didn’t need any treatment apart from a good clean and coating applied to some sensitive areas.
Lola was very nervous but Arianna was so kind and gentle with her. You can see how much she loves animals.

Flame had been kicked in the face by a horse (we think) just before Christmas. His lower jar was dislocated and he was in a lot of pain. Our Vet referred us to VetDentist.. Flame was seen swiftly and his jaw repositioned. He wasn’t just a number, the team followed him up by phone calls and emails, and we attended his follow-up appointment this month. The expertise of Bob Partridge is second to none. He is a true Professional and we would highly recommend him and his team. Laura and Rosie were always friendly and helpful on the phone and when we met face to face. Even though it was over 2 hours travel each way and a long day for all of us, it was worth it . Flame has made a full recovery and is back to enjoying his favourite biscuits. But is keeping away from the horses.

Skye was referred to Bob with Lingually displaced lower canines at the age of 17 weeks. From the time we arrived Bob and his team put us at ease and explained all about the operation Skye needed to remove the teeth. We were kept updated throughout the day while Skye was having her operation and during recovery. Upon collecting Skye later the same day Bob talked us through the operation showing photos and X-rays. Skye is well on the mend and looking forward to going back to see Bob in September.

I can honestly say words are just not enough so say how grateful I am. I want to say a massive THANK YOU to Bob and his lovely team for treating my very poorly 9 year old Persian Exotic Petal. I am so grateful for what you have done for her.
Petals Story-
I initially took Petal to a Vet practice in Leeds as I had noticed she didn’t seem her happy little self, she had also developed very smelly breath.
To cut a very long and complicated story short! Eight frustrating and stressful months later, multiple treatments, procedures and trips to the Vets and not to mention a massive amount of money spent, Petal was no better, and in my opinion worse than she was when initially first seen at the Vets.
I was finally referred to Bob after the Vets seemed to be at a loss of what to do next with her. All I can say is i so wish I had known about the amazing Bob and his practice sooner.
During Petals initial consultation with Bob he took his time to assess her thoroughly. Bob explained what he intended to do, the best cause of action step by step, and although he was hopeful he was also very straight to the point and didn’t dress anything up. He was happy to answer any question I had and was also kind to me when I became emotional. I felt confident that I had left her in good hands.
After a long day in surgery I picked Petal up from the VetDentist. Bob explained what he had done and his findings in detail, also showing me x rays and photographs he had taken.
Well what can I say, from the minute I got Petal home she has been like her old super cute self. Eating lots, cleaning herself, following me everywhere and snuggling up on my shoulder whenever she gets the chance. She is also no longer pawing at her mouth which she had been doing for the last six months, which has been really hard to watch. I was totally amazed it was more that I could have ever hoped for. A week on and Petal is continuing to do really well, I couldn’t be happier and I can tell she is too.
Petal has now had her weekly postoperative check up with Bob, which he was more than happy to do as I didn’t feel comfortable going back to the Vets I had originally gone to. I was so please to hear he was really happy with how things were looking and the progress she has made so far. You could tell he genuinely cared.
Petal isn’t quite out of the woods just yet as we are still waiting for some results to come back from a biopsy and a couple of tests done, but fingers and toes crossed all will be well.
To anyone feeling at a loss of what to do with treatment for their pet, who to turn to or looking into where to get referred, I honestly couldn’t recommend Bob and his team more.
In a nut shell I found Bob to be professional, highly knowledgable, clearly skilled in what he does, confident, kind, caring, honest and I definitely felt he had my pets best interest at heart.
From the first consultation with Bob to the unexpected aftercare call I received to see how Petal was doing, to the nurse who was kind and gentle when holding Petal whilst Bob took postoperative photographs, to anyone else who was involved in any way that I didn’t get to meet, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

My Norfolk Terrier Gus had to have some extensive dental work and extractions today. This was my first time visiting the clinic and Bob and the staff were welcoming and professional. Although it was distressing to find out the extent of the surgery needed, Bob explained everything in detail and how the procedure would go. It was a long and arduous day all round with a very late finish for Bob and nurses Rosie and Emily who were very late home for their tea!!

I have visited Bob several times over the last year with my Yorkshire terrier Milly, who has received treatment for teeth and gum issues. I initially visited my usual vet who treated Milly and removed several teeth. However they were unable to provide any further treatment for her due to her size and the complexity of the surgery. After some enquiries we were eventually referred to Bob and his team in the hope that he could offer some help.
From the first visit it became very clear that the issues with Milly were far more serious than we had been informed and Bob took the time to explain in fine detail what issues we were facing, the treatments available and the expected outcome (in stark contrast to what we had been told previously). From the outset Bob was the consummate professional and was not phased by the difficult surgery required and displayed a level of expertise that is second to none. Milly’s treatment involved teeth removal, bone graft implants and gum disease treatment. On her last visit Bob also removed a growth from Milly’s head which was not planned and was fitted in around her scheduled visit. After every visit Bob has given us a detailed rundown of the procedure with supporting photos and x-rays and detailed care instructions. I genuinely don’t think I could have received any better treatment anywhere else and doubt that we would have Milly any longer had he not treated her.
At all visits Bob and the team have been totally professional and displayed a level of knowledge and care second to none. The service has always been first class and courteous and on my last visit Bob was thoughtful enough to take the time to speak with my young son who had accompanied me on the long journey.
I’d like to offer a heartfelt thanks to Bob and his team for all their help and would not hesitate to recommend them for any treatments. To date Milly is her old self and full of life and happily waiting for her next visit.

I really don’t know where to begin. My one year old cat, Bruce (The Bat Cat as he has a patch of white like a bat sign on his chest) had a lump in his mouth that my vet said needed surgery and recommended Bob. After speaking to Bob and how serious this was I was extremely worried. After extensive radical surgery Bruce is home adjusting to life after his surgery on his jaw. Hes still not out of the woods but I’m hoping and praying that all will be well. I cannot thank Bob and his team of nurses and reception staff enough. A mere thank you would never be enough for bringing hope where we feared they may be none. Bob is honest, compassionate, caring, extremely skilled, a professional and a damn good human being. We met the nurses after Bruces surgery and without there help, again, Bruce may not be home. Following our referral to Bob and his co-workers we were contacted almost immediately and our concerns were alleviated with kindness and understanding. Everything was explained to me in minute detail and all the photos and x-rays showed how intricate the problems in Bosco, my shih tzu’s mouth really were.
I cannot give enough praise to Bob, Laura and Arianna for all the trouble they went to in order to relieve Bosco of the pains he must have been suffering, and they worked on him until well into the evening in order to help him.
The following day I received all the x-rays and pictures and full details of all the procedures that had been undertaken to relieve Bosco of his suffering.
I cannot give enough praise to a truly wonderful team who, it is obvious, really care for their patients and I cannot recommend them enough.
I travelled from Blackpool to Leeds for this care, and after seeing the work that they do, I would gladly travel twice the distance in order to have the same team caring for my dog.

My cat Amber was admitted yesterday she needed dental X-rays and ended up needing an extraction, root canal filling and cleaning etc. I was fully informed of everything start to finish, always kept updated and felt Amber was really looked after. I self referred my 16 year old dog Jess to Bob’s practice as her bad breath had got dramatically worse over the previous 2 months and as a minimum I knew she needed her teeth cleaning because she had terrible tartar. (Jess doesn’t let me clean her teeth). I wasn’t happy with my usual vets attitude towards sorting out any issues with her mouth hence the self referral. I travelled from Lancashire and it was the best thing I could have done. It turns out she had 4 fractured teeth and an abcess aswell as needing a seriously good clean.
From the minute I arrived and met Arianna I knew Jess was in good hands. Within 5 minutes I knew Jess had severe problems that had not been picked up previously and was immediately given a full and thorough estimate of costs and talked through exactly what would be done. It was an extremely long day due to some issues with another operation but it was well worth it. I didn’t get to meet Bob but Arianna blew me away with the depth of her knowledge and skill. Jess only needed 2 of the fractured teeth out as the other 2 were actually not causing issues. My dog now doesn’t have smelly breath at all so she’s clearly had problems for the 11 years I’ve owned her and they’ve been missed. A shout out aswell for Jenny the receptionist who was lovely throughout the day when I rang to check when Jess could be discharged. Overall I’m more than happy with everything and cannot fault this dentist’s professionalism.

Lottie our 10 1/2 year old Labrador was referred to Bob Partridge at Harrogate Pet Dental Hospital. This was due to the complex nature of Lottie’s requirements for her dental care.
On the same day that Lottie saw our own vet, she sent a referral and we got a call that day from the dental hospital to arrange for a suitable date for Lottie’s appointment. We were made aware that she would be there from 9.30am to possibly 7pm in the evening and informed of the way the day would go.
On the day of the appointment, we rang up and I was advised to go in with Lottie to see Bob. She had her consultation; I was advised of the plan for Lottie and the estimated cost and consent was duly signed.
We got a call at lunchtime from the nurse to advise us of the CT scan findings and what treatment was required. We got a call later on in the day again from the nurse advising us that Lottie was fine and we were advised to collect her about 7pm
Whilst we were waiting to collect her, the nurse came out 3 times to apologise to us as Bob was still operating on another dog as Lottie’s surgery had unexpectedly overrun as she was under anaesthetic for over 4 hours due to her complex dental surgery.
When Bob had completed all his surgery, both my husband and myself were invited into see Lottie’s CT scan and all her images. Bob explained everything extremely clearly and we have since received copies emails with all images and full explanation of the surgery that were sent to our own vet.
Even at that late hour, the nurses had stayed behind and were still cleaning up.
We cannot complement all the staff enough. They were awesome and extremely professional.
Thank you everyone at the clinic.
Lottie will be back in a month for further surgery as there was not enough time to do everything on one day.

I’ve taken my Miniature Schnauzer puppy Echo to the VetDentist twice now and they have been absolutely amazing with her. She first had her retained baby teeth removed, then a couple of month later had her lanced canines remove. The second time we went Echo happily trotted into the practice eager to see the team at VetDentist again despite having had several teeth out the previous time, showing the care (and especially the cuddles) from the team had made what could have been a very overwhelming experience for a puppy enjoyable.
Both Bob and Arianna were extremely helpful in their consults, spending time giving her a thorough examination and discussing at length all the options I had for Echo. I was especially impressed with the high quality photographs and radiographs which were shown at discharge so I could see in detail the problems Echo started with and how successful the operations had gone.
I am especially grateful to Bob for being so generous with his time and sharing his expertise when he let me, a veterinary student, watch him operate on my dog to remove her canines. It was truly amazing to watch and I learnt so much from it. He was so gentle with her, both her canines were removed with very little force and instead just a lot of skill. Despite having her two big adult canines removed the next day Echo was bouncing around as if nothing had happened to her. Being able to come into the operating theatre allowed me to meet all the hard working and friendly nurses who continually work to meet Bob’s high standards and give the best possible care for all the in patients.
I really appreciate the phone calls the day after Echo’s operations, it shows that the team at VetDentist don’t just want to get through patients, but they care about their outcomes and really care that their patients still get the best care even after they have left their premises.
I would not hesitate to bring a pet back to the VetDentist and will definitely be recommending them.

As a family we cannot thank Bob, the practice nurses and Jenny enough for all the care and compassion they have shown towards Winston (our much loved rescue dog) and us. Whilst we know it’s still a waiting game, we’re extremely appreciative of the lengthy and difficult surgery that Bob and his team undertook yesterday at extremely short notice.
Winston’s condition, his prognosis and all the details of his procedure were explained so carefully by Bob. We know that relief from the condition is not a guarantee, but we’re confident that Bob and the team have and will give him the best chance that they can.

Whilst we know it’s still a waiting game, we’re extremely appreciative of the lengthy and difficult surgery that Bob and his team undertook yesterday at extremely short notice.
Winston’s condition, his prognosis and all the details of his procedure were explained so carefully by Bob. We know that relief from the condition is not a guarantee, but we’re confident that Bob and the team have and will give him the best chance that they can.
I cannot recommend them enough, the whole referral process from our vet was efficient and Jenny was so helpful in arranging the appointment and providing us with updates.

Thank you so much for the care you took with Toby yesterday. It was such a long day but even when I was finally able to pick him up at 8pm everyone I met and spoke too was still so friendly and informative and professional. From Bob who took the time to show me photos of Toby’s surgery to the lovely lady on the phone who offered me use of the facilities and to make me a drink if I was waiting in the cold and everyone behind the scenes who I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting jn person, you all helped make a scary and exhausting time much more bearable. The work Toby needed also came in significantly under Mr Partridge’s estimate and I really appreciated the honesty in reducing the operation fee. The follow-up call today and the very rapid response to my emails were also wonderful. Would recommend this service to anyone facing difficult times with their pet’s teeth, just wish we lived closer!

I brought my dog Finn in for major dental work with Bob Partridge. My dog had been suffering from enamel dysplasia and had obviously been suffering for some time.
Bob was very friendly, explained to me in detail about the issue and how he would be performing the procedure, which gave me reassurance Finn was in capable hands.
I’d like to say a big thanks to all the nurses as well, they were friendly and went above and beyond to help. Due to the severity of Finns condition it took all day and he was not discharged until 8pm at night. This meant additional hours for Bob and the nurses. We are very grateful for your effort.

What a knowledgeable man Bob Partridge is and he gives you the information you need to make the best decision for your pet. He treated my 14 year old Maine Coon cat Bish for a lump in his upper mouth and treated him just like a baby. we are still waiting for the histology result but Bish seems much better already. Bob even rang me the day after he performed the operation which I consider above and beyond .

I was quite worried when our vet said Daisy my maltipoo needed to see a specialist about her teeth. When we met Bob he explained everything to me as her mouth was in a really poor state. I did feel better knowing she was in his hands and that he would make her better. When I picked her up Bob had only been able to deal with her bottom jaw with 4 teeth taken out and bone grafts because she had small holes in her jaw. The ct scans and x rays were amazing to see. We needed another appointment so her top jaw could be sorted which was this week 5 Jan. When we picked her up it turned out the teeth weren’t as bad as we thought and only needed a very good clean. He was happy that the bone graft was starting to do it’s job and we have a follow up appointment in July which I am very happy about. Daisy is enjoying her food more now she can eat properly and her tail never stops wagging
Bob is very reassuring I can’t praise him enough he did a fantastic job with Daisy. The nurses are very kind and loving to the pets you can see how much they care about their work. Jenny on reception is lovely to talk to on the telephone really polite and helpful.
I would highly recommend Bob and his team.

I am delighted that Daisy is doing so well. As you say the infection in the lower molars was so severe that it had eaten away at the jaw bone itself. Left much longer jaw fractures would have been inevitable – so it is great we were able to step in when we did.

Bob was extremely knowledgeable and carefully explained what had caused the damage to Alfie’s teeth. He then talked me through all the work that would have to be done on Alfie’s teeth. I left the surgery confident things would be ok. I was asked to call in the afternoon for a time to collect Alfie. It took far longer than thought but the end result was amazing. When I got back to the clinic Bob talked me through what he had done and showed me photos on the big screen of before during and after the procedure. I f you look at Alfie’s teeth now you would not know he had any work done. The veterinary nurses who looked after Alfie also made sure I was ok. It was quite stressful to wonder if he would be ok. They rang me several times to reassure me that the procedure was going Well and Alfie was ok. The worked until I collected him at 8.00pm. They were all marvellous and I cannot thank them enough.

Bruce, my blue Staffordshire bull terrier had broken his front canine and we were referred to take him to the Vet Dentist for a root canal procedure. The procedure took longer than anticipated and also another tooth at the back that was bad was removed at the same time. We attended the Vet Dentist with our dog, Dennis, and could not have been more impressed with the treatment and explanation of what and why the treatment was needed and what it was going to entail, they were superb.
Dennis had to have a large back tooth removed due to it having fractured right through and the treatment was super and completed in the space of 8hrs, we dropped him off in the morning and picked him up later that afternoon.
They even rang me up the day after his treatment to ask how he was doing which I thought was a lovely touch.
He was back to his usual daft self within hours and is now fully recovered and back to normal.
I would not hesitate to recommend this practise to anyone who needs treatment for their animals mouth and/or teeth, all the team were fantastic and the service was absolutely first class and cannot be faulted.
They supplied us and our usual vet surgery with a full report on Dennis’s treatment and they dealt with our insurance forms for us.

Mabel our mini schnauzer was referred for a fracture to her back tooth caused by a hard bone. Unfortunately the situation was a little more complex with other work required and the tooth couldn’t be saved. It was a very long journey and a long day but the administrator Jenny, Bob and his fabulous nursing team stayed late to get everything done in one day. I can’t thank them enough for their reassurance and attention to detail and the care they showed for our girl! They even rang a couple of days later to check all was ok. We look forward to seeing you again for her check up.
