What They Said
I would, and do, recommend this practice to anyone who has concerns about their dog’s teeth. My experience is that general veterinary practitioners do not have the specialist knowledge to advise on complex dental issues and seem to take the view that if the dog is not showing pain then it is OK.
My English Bull Terrier pup had a condition where one of her lower canines was pressing into her upper palate. My vet suggested that this would ‘work itself out’ as her jaw grew. Thank goodness I asked for a referral to Bob Partridge to get a second opinion as a full examination showed that her canine had pierced her upper palate and would have been causing her a lot of pain every time she closed her mouth.
After her teeth were sorted out she was a different girl: letting anyone stroke her head and under her chin – she would dodge her head previously and now I understood why – and happy to play pull with her rope toys.
Our Response
Dear Mrs Kendall
Thank you for your kind review. I am delighted that Marnie is now so much more comfortable and I look forward to seeing her again for the follow up radiographs.
Really pleased that she is now pain free and enjoying herself – that is what makes our job worthwhile!
Best wishes
Bob
